RSWM Ltd. Expands LNJ Knits with ₹92 Cr Modernization Drive

₹92 crore investment to modernize knitting facilities and introduce printed knits line.
RSWM Ltd., the flagship company of the LNJ Bhilwara Group, has announced a strategic investment of ₹92 crore aimed at modernizing and expanding its LNJ Knits business. The investment — funded through a mix of internal accruals and debt — will upgrade knitting operations at Mordi (Rajasthan) and Chhata (Uttar Pradesh) through the acquisition of advanced European-made machinery from Birla Advanced Knits Pvt. Ltd. worth ₹54 crore.
This modernization drive will enhance operational efficiency, expand product offerings, and boost monthly knitting capacity from 750 MT to 900 MT over the next 6–9 months. The expansion also marks the introduction of a new printed knits product line, designed to serve both domestic and international markets.
The acquisition includes state-of-the-art dyeing, processing, and knitting machinery, along with accessories and spares, for installation across RSWM’s key units. This move will enable the company to cater more effectively to the fashion knitted fabric segment, which accounts for 30–35% of the overall market, offering greater product diversity and enhanced value addition to garment manufacturers worldwide.
Speaking on the announcement, Mr. Riju Jhunjhunwala, Chairman, Managing Director, and CEO of RSWM Ltd., stated:
“The knitting business has shown consistent growth since inception, and this investment reflects our confidence in its long-term potential. The expansion aligns with RSWM’s broader strategy of building a future-ready textile enterprise through modernization, diversification, and value creation. By strengthening our capabilities in Mordi and Chhata, we are enhancing our competitiveness and supporting India’s vision of textile leadership on the global stage.”
Echoing this vision, Mr. Rajeev Gupta, Joint Managing Director of RSWM Ltd., added:
“This strategic investment reinforces our commitment to innovation-led growth. By expanding capacity and introducing printed knits, we are positioning RSWM’s knitting business to serve emerging fashion categories with agility and precision. The modernization will improve productivity, quality, and speed-to-market, enabling us to meet the evolving needs of customers in India and abroad.”
This initiative is a key step in RSWM Ltd.’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its foothold in the high-growth knitted fabrics segment, which spans over 70 global markets. With the surge in demand for high-quality, value-added fabrics across kidswear, womenswear, and loungewear, coupled with growing momentum from Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and the global shift toward versatile textile solutions, RSWM Ltd. anticipates unlocking new growth opportunities while reinforcing its leadership within India’s evolving textile ecosystem.
