ROICA Brings European Textile Expertise and Japanese Craftsmanship to PERFORMANCE DAYS Munich

Nine textile partners will showcase stretch, performance and material developments at ROICA’s booth during the 13–14 October event

ROICA by Asahi Kasei will return to PERFORMANCE DAYS Munich on October 13–14, 2026, bringing together textile developments from seven European partners and two Japanese specialists under its global message, “STRETCH YOUR FUTURE.”

The developments will be presented at Booth P10 in Hall A4, covering textile engineering, performance, comfort, craftsmanship and material development for contemporary apparel.

The nine partners will showcase approaches ranging from breathable and three-dimensional constructions to engineered textiles, wool-based stretch fabrics and Japanese warp-knit and tricot developments.

Nine Textile Perspectives on Stretch

The ROICA booth will bring together the work of Borgini Jersey, Brugnoli, Cifra, Penn Solutions, Reda, Sitip, Tiba Tricot, Imai Kigyojo and Kawada Knitting Group.

The developments demonstrate different applications of stretch technology across performance, active, lifestyle and technical apparel.

Borgini Jersey Develops Performance Knits

Borgini Jersey will present knitted fabrics designed for active and sportswear applications, with a focus on breathability, comfort and body-responsive functionality.

Its collection includes breathable mesh fabrics designed to support airflow, moisture management and rapid drying, alongside three-dimensional structures intended to improve aerodynamics and reduce fabric cling during physical activity.

Lightweight constructions with UV protection and full coverage are also included.

The fabrics use ROICA premium stretch fibre, while selected developments incorporate ROICA V550, which is engineered to partially degrade under the conditions specified in ISO 14855-1.

Brugnoli Combines Stretch and Circular Knitting

Brugnoli will showcase technical circular knits developed around its proprietary Explosive Technology.

The collection focuses on support, elasticity and freedom of movement while maintaining a clean aesthetic for active and everyday apparel.

One highlighted development, Explosive Amni V550, combines AMNI® SOUL ECO® polyamide with ROICA V550.

The fabrics are developed and produced in Italy and use ROICA premium stretch fibre for stretch, comfort and body support.

Cifra Highlights Warp-Knit Seamless Technology

Cifra, described as a warp knit centre of excellence, will present its WKS (Warp Knit Seamless) technology.

The process is designed to support efficient production, reduce material waste and enable detailed textile designs.

Cifra's collaboration with Wolford includes seamless silhouettes with contemporary cut-out details, combining comfort, fit and movement.

The developments use ROICA premium stretch fibre and demonstrate the application of seamless technology in modern apparel.

Penn Solutions Showcases Engineered Textile Structures

Penn Solutions will present textile developments based on engineered constructions combining performance, customisation and visual effects.

Its collection includes tricot, lace and technical fabrics featuring three-dimensional effects, breathable openings, customised motifs and engineered surface designs.

Other developments include grip structures intended to improve stability during movement and lace-effect constructions combining comfort, shaping performance and aesthetics.

The fabrics incorporate ROICA V550 and are designed for applications including sportswear, cycling apparel, intimate garments and technical apparel.

Reda Applies Stretch Technology to Merino Wool

Reda will showcase wool-based stretch fabrics combining fine Merino wool with ROICA premium stretch fibre.

The collection includes lightweight jersey constructions and woven fabrics made with 17.5-micron Merino wool and ZQ wool.

The fabrics are intended for applications ranging from T-shirts and sportswear to leggings, shirts, fitted garments and tailored apparel.

The developments combine wool's softness, breathability and hand feel with added elasticity, resilience, stretch and freedom of movement. Machine-washable constructions are also included.

Sitip Develops Technical Fabrics for Activewear

Sitip will present technical fabrics developed for sportswear and active applications.

The collection includes lightweight warp-knit constructions and thermal brushed fabrics designed to balance stretch, support, breathability and comfort.

The fabrics incorporate ROICA premium stretch fibre, including ROICA V550 and ROICA EF. ROICA EF uses pre-consumer waste yarn as part of its raw materials.

The developments are designed to provide stretch recovery, shape retention and performance under demanding conditions and are produced in Italy.

Tiba Tricot Focuses on Circular and Warp Knitting

Tiba Tricot will showcase circular and warp-knitted fabrics for sportswear, activewear and technical applications.

With more than 60 years of expertise, the company combines circular knitting and three-dimensional warp-knit structures to develop fabrics balancing elasticity, structure, breathability and surface characteristics.

The showcased fabrics use ROICA premium stretch fibre to provide stretch performance, stability and comfort.

Japanese Textile Craftsmanship from Nanto City

ROICA will also feature two Japanese textile specialists from Nanto City in Toyama Prefecture: Imai Kigyojo and Kawada Knitting Group.

Nanto has a longstanding manufacturing background in tricot and warp-knitting development.

Imai Kigyojo will showcase warp-knit fabrics featuring lightweight open constructions, surface textures and bonded structures designed around breathability, moisture management and comfort.

Kawada Knitting Group will present tricot fabrics focused on lightness, versatility and freedom of movement for applications including sportswear, swimwear, innerwear and uniforms.

Both companies use ROICA premium stretch fibre in their developments.

Stretch Applications Across the Textile Value Chain

The nine partner collections bring together different approaches to stretch technology, from advanced knitting and seamless construction to wool-based fabrics and Japanese textile manufacturing.

The developments demonstrate how stretch fibres can be integrated into textile structures to address requirements related to comfort, performance, movement, material efficiency and versatility.

Under the message “STRETCH YOUR FUTURE,” ROICA will use its presence at PERFORMANCE DAYS Munich to highlight collaborative development across the textile value chain.
