RenewSys, India’s first integrated manufacturer of solar PV modules and their key components, has announced a major capacity expansion with the installation of eight new encapsulant manufacturing lines at its recently launched Khopoli facility. This initiative significantly strengthens the company's production capabilities and aligns with growing demand for high-performance encapsulants in both Indian and global solar energy markets.

Currently operating seven encapsulant lines, RenewSys plans to commission four additional lines in 2025, which will bring the total number of operational lines across all its facilities to 19. These high-tech production lines are part of RenewSys' strategic roadmap to achieve a cumulative manufacturing capacity of 30 GW, reinforcing its leadership in India’s encapsulant manufacturing space.

Avinash Hiranandani, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of RenewSys, highlighted the company’s innovation-driven approach:

“We aim to solidify our position in the solar PV ecosystem through cutting-edge products like Transparent Backsheets and Anti-Acid Encapsulants, as well as our well-established EVA, POE, and EPE solutions. We are focused on leveraging advanced technologies, scaling efficiently, and ensuring sustainability to meet both domestic and global demand.”

RenewSys already holds a dominant position in the encapsulant and backsheet markets, with a manufacturing capacity of 9 GW before this expansion. The Khopoli facility marks a new chapter in the company’s push for manufacturing excellence, supported by R&D and innovation. This growth also aligns with India’s renewable energy goals, aiming for cleaner, more self-reliant energy solutions.
