R. K. Vij Elected National President of The Textile Association

TAI elects new leadership for 2025–2027 with unanimous support for Shri R. K. Vij.

The Textile Association (India) has unanimously elected Shri R. K. Vij as its National President for the 2025–2027 term, recognising his decades-long contribution and leadership in the textile and fibre industry.

The Textile Association (India) has announced its newly elected Office Bearers for the 2025–2027 term following the Governing Council Meeting held on 22 November 2025 at Hotel Le Meridien, Coimbatore.

In a transparent election process overseen by Returning Officer Dr. G. S. Nadiger, the Association declared that Shri R. K. Vij has been unanimously elected as the National President for the 2025–2027 term.

Profile of Shri R. K. Vij

Bringing over 46 years of experience in steering textile and fibre businesses across highly competitive markets, Shri Vij currently serves as Advisor – Polyester at Indorama Synthetics (India) Limited, a company with roots in India’s polyester sector since 1995.

He holds an MBA from Delhi University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (YMCA New Delhi), and a B.Tech in Textiles from The Technological Institute of Textile & Sciences (TITS), Bhiwani.

Shri Vij previously served as National President (2021–2023) and later as President (Emeritus) for 2023–2025.

Contributions to the Association and Industry

A long-standing and active member of both the Delhi Unit and Central body of The Textile Association (India), Shri Vij has been recognised for his exemplary service:

  • Service Memento (2007) – All India Textile Conference, Ahmedabad
  • Service Gold Medal (2017) – All India Textile Conference, Nagpur

He represents TAI at the Ministry of Textiles and other government bodies on matters concerning textiles and man-made fibres.

Shri Vij also holds key positions across industry organisations, including:

  • Secretary-General, Polyester Textiles & Apparel Association (PTAA), India
  • Vice Chairman (Textile Committee), PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Expressing his vision for the industry, Shri Vij emphasised that with strong collaboration between associations and industry stakeholders, India’s textile sector is poised to achieve significant growth in the coming years.
