Polygiene has launched OdorCrunch2.0, a new odor capture technology for textiles designed to reduce odors in apparel and fabrics. The technology operates without metals and is compatible with a wide range of materials, including polyester, blends, and natural fibers. It is intended for integration into existing textile finishing processes.

Polygiene OdorCrunch2.0 builds on the original OdorCrunch system and provides improved odor absorption across various fabric types, including lightweight 100% polyester, blended fabrics, and natural fibers. The technology functions without heavy metals, using a mechanism that retains odor molecules without affecting fabric comfort, breathability, appearance, or performance.

The technology is engineered for modern textile production and can be applied using existing finishing methods such as padding and exhaust applications. It offers durable odor absorption and has demonstrated significant odor reduction in accordance with ISO 17299, including on lightweight 100% polyester.

Polygiene OdorCrunch2.0 is also suitable for garments that are not washed frequently or require specialist care, such as dry-clean-only items. By maintaining freshness between cleaning cycles, the technology may support garment longevity by reducing the frequency of washing.

In line with sustainability considerations in the textile sector, OdorCrunch2.0 contains no heavy metals or PFAS. Its biodegradability properties are currently under evaluation. By enabling garments to be worn multiple times between washes, it may contribute to lower water and energy consumption over the product’s life.

Polygiene OdorCrunch2.0 combines odor absorption performance, broad fabric compatibility, and application flexibility while aligning with current sustainability practices. More information is available at www.polygiene.com.
