HYDERABAD: On Monday, RE Sustainability—previously known as Ramky Enviro Engineers—an integrated waste management player—announced that it has partnered with PolyCycl Private Ltd to establish a network of feedstock facilities in India for the chemical recycling of plastics. The collaboration intends to separate low-grade plastics from various streams, such as packaging waste and single-use flexible films, and prepare them for use as feedstock in chemical recycling initiatives managed by PolyCycl and its associates. Post-consumer plastics are chemically recycled by PolyCycl. It further stated that by utilising chemical recycling procedures, these plastics will be converted into a variety of hydrocarbon compounds that can be utilised as vital components in the production of green chemicals, sustainable circular polymers, and renewable fuels.
