Polímeros y Derivados Implements Mecalux’s Easy WMS to Improve Nonwoven Fabric Traceability
The Mexican manufacturer has integrated the warehouse management system with Microsoft Dynamics ERP to digitise inventory processes and improve visibility at its finished goods facility in León, Guanajuato.
Polímeros y Derivados, a Mexican company specialising in technologies for manufacturing nonwoven fabrics, has implemented Mecalux’s Easy WMS warehouse management system at its finished goods centre in León, Guanajuato. The system is designed to improve product traceability, streamline warehouse operations and support customer service.
Previously, the company relied on manual processes supported by ERP software to manage its extensive facility. The implementation marks a shift towards digital warehouse management for the manufacturer, which supplies customers in the automotive, cleaning, construction and plastic tarpaulin sectors.
Easy WMS Integrates with Microsoft Dynamics ERP
A key objective of the implementation was to establish end-to-end traceability for rolls of nonwoven material while reducing manual inventory procedures. Polímeros y Derivados worked with Mecalux specialists to optimise its logistics operations and improve the management of finished goods.
Easy WMS integrates with Microsoft Dynamics ERP and manages multiple orders daily, each containing up to 40 lines. The system accommodates the manufacturer's two-dimensional labelling system, allowing radio-frequency (RF) devices to capture essential product information.
The data recorded includes product dimensions, lot numbers, serial numbers and customer codes. This information supports the accurate identification of pallets arriving from production.
Warehouse Management Aligned with Quality Control
Compatibility with the company's internal quality control procedures was another priority during implementation. To meet this requirement, information captured by Easy WMS was aligned with Polímeros y Derivados' existing information management framework.
Mecalux's Easy WMS is used in hundreds of warehouses worldwide. At the Mexican manufacturer's facility, the system supports the digitisation of warehouse information and the tracking of nonwoven fabric rolls used across multiple industries.
Digitalisation Replaces Manual Inventory Processes
The implementation has enabled Polímeros y Derivados to replace manual processes previously managed through colour coding with a computerised system designed to scale alongside the company's growth strategy.
The system also includes Supply Chain Analytics, which provides detailed visibility into warehouse performance. This information supports operational monitoring and decision-making.
By integrating product identification, inventory management and warehouse analytics, Polímeros y Derivados has introduced a digital approach to managing finished goods at its León facility.
