Oriflame Whitepaper Explores How Longevity Science Is Reshaping the Future of Beauty

New report examines the role of longevity science in skincare as ageing populations and preventive wellbeing gain global attention

Oriflame has released a new whitepaper titled "Beyond Anti-ageing: How Longevity Science Is Changing Beauty," examining how advances in longevity science are influencing the future of skincare. The report explores the shift from addressing visible signs of ageing to supporting long-term skin health and wellbeing.

The whitepaper comes as demographic trends point to longer life expectancy worldwide, with growing interest in preventive health, science-backed skincare and healthy ageing.

Whitepaper Highlights Changing Demographic Trends

According to the whitepaper, United Nations projections indicate that the global population aged 80 years and above is expected to triple by 2050, while many children born today are projected to live into their 90s.

The report states that increasing life expectancy has shifted attention from simply living longer to improving healthspan alongside lifespan.

Focus Shifts Towards Long-Term Skin Health

The whitepaper notes that the beauty industry has traditionally focused on reducing the visible signs of ageing.

It states that developments in longevity science are encouraging greater understanding of the biological processes that influence skin ageing and how healthier skin function can be supported over time.

According to the report, growing consumer interest in preventive wellbeing and science-led skincare is making longevity one of the emerging trends shaping the future of the beauty industry.

Key Insights from the Whitepaper

The report outlines several findings, including:

  • A shift from anti-ageing to pro-longevity approaches focused on long-term skin health.
  • Skin ageing is influenced by interconnected biological processes rather than only visible changes.
  • Nutrition, sleep, stress and environmental factors contribute to maintaining healthy skin.
  • Advances in longevity science are supporting more proactive and science-based skincare innovation.

The whitepaper also discusses the Hallmarks of Ageing, a scientific framework that explains ageing through interconnected biological mechanisms. According to Oriflame, understanding these processes can help skincare innovation move beyond surface-level concerns towards supporting healthier skin function and resilience throughout life.

Company Comments

Commenting on the launch, Edyta Kurek, Senior Vice President & GM, Oriflame India, said:

"Indian consumers today are increasingly informed and intentional about their wellbeing. They are looking beyond quick fixes and asking deeper questions about the science behind healthy skin and healthy ageing. We hope this whitepaper inspires a broader conversation around beauty that focuses on supporting healthier, more resilient skin throughout life. At Oriflame, science-led innovation has always been at the heart of our approach, and this reflects our commitment to empowering consumers with knowledge as much as products."

Lene Visdal-Johnsen, Director Scientific Research, Claims & Innovation, Oriflame, said:

"Significant advances in longevity science have transformed our understanding of skin ageing. By looking beyond surface signs to the underlying biology, we can better support skin function, resilience and long-term wellbeing."

Research and Future Publications

According to Oriflame, the whitepaper reflects the company's focus on science-led innovation, drawing on nearly 60 years of global beauty expertise and more than 15 years of research into multi-pathway skin biology.

The report also highlights Oripeptide-3, Oriflame's patented peptide technology, as an example of how advances in longevity science are being applied to skincare innovation.

Oriflame said the publication is the first in a planned series focused on longevity and wellbeing, with the next edition scheduled for release later this year.
