Odisha is preparing to organise a dedicated road show in New Delhi next month to attract investments in the food processing sector. The initiative is aimed at positioning the State as a preferred investment destination while encouraging projects capable of generating large-scale employment.
Odisha will organise a dedicated investment road show in New Delhi in August as part of its efforts to attract investments in the food processing industry. The initiative is intended to position the State as a preferred destination for food processing projects while promoting employment-generating investments.
The announcement was made on Saturday by Industries and Skill Development & Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, who said the road show is part of Odisha's broader investment promotion strategy to diversify its industrial base and bring new sectors to the State.
During the event, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will interact with leading industrialists and investors to present Odisha's strengths in the food processing sector.
Speaking on the State's investment strategy, Sampad Chandra Swain said:
"Over the last two years, we have attracted investments in textiles, renewable energy, chemicals, petrochemicals and other sunrise sectors. Our next focus is to bring more investments into food processing."
Swain also stated that the government is giving priority to industries with high employment potential while encouraging sectors that have not yet established a significant presence in Odisha.
Alongside industrial expansion, the State government is investing in skill development initiatives to ensure local youth are equipped to benefit from employment opportunities expected from upcoming projects.
