During the visits, the Chief Minister interacted with promoters, employees and senior officials while assuring full administrative support for future expansion initiatives.
Trimetro Garments India Private Limited, a subsidiary of Hong Kong-headquartered EPIC Group, recently established its first production base in India at the company’s state-of-the-art apparel manufacturing facility. The unit was set up with an investment of around Rs 376 crore.
According to officials, the facility manufactures garments for global fashion brand Uniqlo and has generated major employment opportunities, with the potential to create over 7,000 jobs, most of them for women.
Officials informed the Chief Minister that the project reflected Odisha’s industrial execution model, progressing from groundbreaking on April 3, 2025 to inauguration within less than a year.
While interacting with workers, the Chief Minister discussed employment opportunities and workplace conditions. Employees informed him that industrial growth in Odisha had contributed significantly to youth employment and enabled local residents to earn livelihoods closer to home.
Majhi stated that generating dignified local employment and strengthening skill development among Odisha’s youth remained a priority for the State government.
He also announced initiatives focused on the welfare and safety of women employees, including modern hostel facilities and eco-friendly EV bus services for secure transportation.
“Our talent pool should not be compelled to leave their families and homeland in search of work outside the state. Generating sustainable employment opportunities within Odisha is our government’s commitment,” the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister further stated that additional industries would be established in the region in the coming years to support local economic activity and create large-scale employment opportunities.
Later, Majhi visited the defence manufacturing facility of Anadrome Systems at Mundamba Industrial Park. The unit was established with an investment of Rs 96.86 crore and manufactures advanced defence and drone systems. The company currently employs around 165 people.
During the visit, the Chief Minister reviewed ongoing operations and witnessed demonstrations of sophisticated defence equipment, including aerial targets, target launchers and ground support equipment and systems being supplied to the Indian armed forces.
During discussions with company CEO Anant Bhatia and technical staff, the Chief Minister praised the company’s contribution to strengthening India’s defence capabilities and congratulated the firm for deployment of drone technology during Operation Sindoor.
Reaffirming Odisha’s industry-friendly environment, Majhi assured continued support for the expansion of advanced technology and strategic defence manufacturing projects in the State.
