Nuyarn Expands Performance Wool Sock Partnerships with Falke, Courier, Radio and Kathmandu
New partnerships extend the use of Nuyarn Merino and Strong Wool technologies across run, bike, hike, hunt and other endurance activities
Nuyarn® technologies, a performance yarn and fabric technology company, has announced the expansion of its sock brand partnerships. Alongside existing partners KUIU and Trew, the new partnerships include Falke, Courier, Radio and Kathmandu.
The brands are using Nuyarn Merino and Strong Wool technologies in performance socks designed for active footwear applications, with a focus on durability, moisture management, comfort and lightweight construction.
Reworking the structure of performance wool
Traditional ring-spinning methods twist wool fibres together. According to Nuyarn, this has historically resulted in heavier, slower-drying yarn structures that can limit some of wool's natural performance characteristics.
Nuyarn technology removes this twist by drafting superfine merino wool around a high-performance filament, creating a loftier and more resilient yarn structure.
The company has also developed its Strong Wool technology, which uses overabundant, coarse interior textile wool that was previously considered unsuitable for apparel and converts it into durable, lightweight yarns designed to withstand high levels of abrasion.
The technology is now being applied to active footwear through Nuyarn-powered socks from the company's brand partners.
