NIT Jalandhar Signs MoU with Tynor Orthotics, Mohali

The Department of Textile Technology at Dr B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jalandhar, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tynor Orthotics Pvt. Ltd., a leading Indian manufacturer of orthopaedic and healthcare products. The partnership aims to strengthen industry–academia collaboration and promote applied research in medical textiles and innovative healthcare products. The MoU was formally signed by Prof. B. K. Kanaujia, Director, NIT Jalandhar, and Mr. A. J. Singh, Executive Director, Tynor Orthotics Ltd., in the presence of Mr. Parmod Lamba, Group CHRO; Prof. Vinay Midha, Head, CTP; Prof. Monica Sikka, Head, Department of Textile Technology; Prof. Ajay Bansal, Registrar; and Prof. Mamta Khosla, Dean (Industry and International Affairs). Faculty members from the Department of Textile Technology, including Prof. A. Mukhopadhyay and Prof. A. K. Choudhary, were also present. This collaboration aims to promote mutual academic and industrial interests between Tynor Orthotics Ltd. and NIT Jalandhar by supporting student internships, collaborative R&D in medical and technical textiles, and development programs such as workshops, design innovation projects, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. It will also facilitate the exchange of expertise, innovations, and technical know-how in areas such as biomedical textiles, smart materials, and product prototyping. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. B. K. Kanaujia said, “This MoU will open new avenues for our students and faculty to work on cutting-edge healthcare and assistive technology products. Collaborating with a leading company like Tynor aligns with our mission to connect research with societal and industrial needs.” The partnership is expected to enhance practical exposure for students, foster skill development, and contribute to technological advancement in medical and technical textiles in India.
