Nissan India Records 147% Domestic Wholesale Growth, Begins TEKTON Exports

Nissan Motor India dispatches the first batch of more than 1,300 TEKTON units to South Africa, Bhutan and Nepal

Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. (NMIPL) announced total wholesale of 9,350 units in August 2026, comprising 3,426 units in the domestic market and 5,924 units exported to international markets.

Domestic wholesale performance was supported by continued demand for the Magnite and Gravite, along with the market response to the all-new Nissan TEKTON. The company recorded a 147% year-on-year increase in domestic wholesale.

TEKTON Exports Begin

Nissan has commenced exports of the TEKTON as part of its “One Car. One World.” strategy. The company dispatched the first batch of more than 1,300 units to South Africa, Bhutan and Nepal.

The start of exports to these markets marks the first phase of TEKTON’s international journey. Manufactured in India, the SUV is expected to progressively reach customers in markets across regions, supporting Nissan’s international operations from India.

Nissan’s “One Car. One World.” strategy focuses on manufacturing vehicles in India to consistent Nissan standards while offering them to customers across domestic and international markets.

The beginning of exports to Nepal and Bhutan also expands the SUV’s presence in neighbouring markets. Together with the South Africa launch, these introductions support Nissan’s plans to build scale across domestic and export markets from India.

Nissan India on August Performance

Commenting on the August performance, Mr. Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, said, “The response to the all-new Nissan TEKTON has been encouraging and has contributed to a strong domestic wholesale performance in August. At the same time, our export business continues to demonstrate the global competitiveness of vehicles manufactured in India and underlines the strategic importance of our Indian operations within Nissan's global network. As we expand TEKTON's presence across domestic and international markets, we remain focused on delivering innovative products, a differentiated customer experience and sustainable growth for the business.”

Designed around Nissan’s SUV DNA, the all-new Nissan TEKTON combines Japanese craftsmanship, intelligent technology, performance and everyday practicality.

The SUV marks a milestone in Nissan’s growth journey in India and is expected to play a role in strengthening the company’s presence across both domestic and export markets.

Nissan Motor India continues to focus on expanding its product portfolio, enhancing customer experiences and increasing its international footprint, while leveraging India’s growing importance within Nissan’s global manufacturing and export strategy.
