NIFT Unveils ‘Eternité: Kalpa 27/28’ International Fashion Forecast at Bharat Tex 2026

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), as the Knowledge Partner at *Bharat Tex 2026 – India’s Largest Global Textile Expo, today unveiled its International Fashion Forecast ‘Eternité: Kalpa 27/28 under its trend intelligence platform *VISIONXT®*.
The forecast for the 2027-28 fashion cycles was formally unveiled by Shri Giriraj Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Textiles, Government of India, in the presence of distinguished dignitaries at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
Designed to position Indian textiles and apparel at the intersection of tradition and global relevance, _Eternité: Kalpa 27/28_ aims to guide designers, brands, manufacturers and exporters to align with future consumer behavior while drawing from India’s deep cultural heritage.
Speaking at the session, NIFT presented the *‘GLOBAL FORESIGHT METHOD’* behind the forecast, rooted in the philosophy _"यत् भावो तत् भवति"_ – _“You become what you believe”_ from the Vishnu Purana.
The 5-step VISIONXT methodology explained how the forecast was developed:
1. *ACCUMULATE*: Gathering over *1,00,000 global signals* and *60,000+ drivers* from proprietary data, e-commerce, runway, export inputs, along with inputs from VISIONXT experts and academia.
2. *ANALYSE*: Deep data mining, social and brand analytics, AI & ML modelling, and cultural decoding through the VISIONXT Map 8 framework.
3. *FORESIGHT*: Assessment of global impact, emerging archetypes, environmental shifts, and socio-cultural relevance to define cultural insights and product direction.
4. *INSIGHT*: Mapping key drivers, emerging emotions, color & material ethos, prints, crafts, and strategic opportunities through ‘Culture Cartography’.
5. *EVALUATE*: Continuous monitoring, expert validation, and refinement to track trends in real-time.
The method also integrates *Climate Mapping, Temporal Analysis, and Emerging Emotions Analysis* using an *AI & ML driven DeepSignal® Framework*.
The forecast provides actionable direction on lifestyle, product design, fabrics, colors, and business solutions tailored for both domestic and global markets. It seeks to help the Indian industry move from reactive manufacturing to predictive, design-led growth.
