NIFT Daman Welcomes Fourth Batch, Launches Bachelor of Fashion Design Program

Institute expands academic offerings with new Fashion Design course as 102 students join three programmes for the 2026 academic session.
The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Daman, the 18th centre in the NIFT network, has welcomed its fourth batch of students with the start of the new academic session. The institute has enrolled 102 freshers across three academic programmes—Bachelor of Textile Design (TD), Master of Fashion Management (MFM), and the newly introduced Bachelor of Fashion Design (FD).
The admission process began with student registration at 9:30 AM, followed by a three-day orientation programme featuring knowledge sessions, industry workshops, and awareness activities aimed at introducing students to the institute's academic and campus environment.
Established in 2022 under the leadership of Hon’ble Administrator Shri Praful Patel, NIFT Daman initially offered programmes in Textile Design and Fashion Management. The addition of the Bachelor of Fashion Design programme this year marks a new phase in the institute's academic development.
Located within India's western industrial textile belt, the campus provides students with opportunities for industrial visits, practical projects, and internships through its proximity to the textile manufacturing regions of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman.
According to the institute, three batches of Master of Fashion Management (MFM) students have completed their studies and have secured positions across textile and fashion companies. This year, more than 65% of graduating students obtained placements during the early recruitment phase.
The institute also reported that several students from the first batch of the Bachelor of Textile Design programmer were recruited by companies including Myntra, Arvind Fashions, and Zouk after completing their mandatory six-month graduation internships.
A significant development for the campus took place on June 5, 2026, when Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for NIFT Daman's permanent campus. The proposed campus is planned to include state-of-the-art infrastructure, advanced design laboratories, modern residential facilities, and eco-friendly architecture, and is intended to serve as one of the flagship campuses within the NIFT network.
Speaking on the occasion, Campus Director Mr. Khushal Jangid expressed deep gratitude to the Union Territory Administration and credited the visionary leadership of Shri Praful Patel for giving the campus the much-needed drive and infrastructure backing to grow into a world-class center of fashion and textile education.
