NG Nordic Highlights Circular Economy Priorities at BIR Gothenburg

Company outlines views on metal recycling, local processing, material traceability, and aluminium scrap export policies in Europe
NG Nordic is attending BIR Gothenburg this year as a Titanium Sponsor and is exhibiting at Stand B20 throughout the event. The company stated that it is available for discussions with members of the press, policymakers, industry participants, and others involved in shaping the future of the European circular economy.
The participation comes shortly after NG Nordic was named one of TIME's Most Impactful Companies 2026, recognizing its work in environmental services and circular solutions across the Nordic region.
NG Nordic operates as a provider of environmental services and circular solutions in the Nordics, employing 3,400 people and managing 90 facilities across the region. Its activities cover the resource recovery value chain, including collection, processing, and the supply of secondary raw materials.
The company also highlighted its recently introduced “Transparent Metal” system. The traceability platform connects metal recycling streams with recorded data, enabling traceable material flows and supporting transparency within circular economy operations.
At BIR Gothenburg, NG Nordic is emphasizing several policy and industry priorities. These include the need to increase demand for locally sourced metals and encouraging manufacturers to take a greater role in supporting the use of recycled materials.
The company also underscored the importance of metal recycling and local processing activities in strengthening Europe’s security of supply.
In addition, NG Nordic expressed concerns regarding the European Union’s planned export duties on aluminium scrap. According to the company, the core issue is not the willingness of sellers to export material. Instead, it points to insufficient demand within the European Union and a mismatch between the quality of available scrap and the requirements of European industry as the main challenges facing the market.
