Improving accuracy in Performance InCheck reporting
Measuring progress in ZDHC MRSL conformance is crucial for brands, suppliers, formulators, and the ZDHC Strategy 2030. The InCheck Solutions provide a suite of tools for this measurement, with the Performance InCheck being the primary reporting tool.
The accuracy of InCheck reporting significantly relies on the availability of correct information for the product matching process and the users’ abilities. To enhance this process, ZDHC will implement a key change: suppliers will need the Gateway Product ID of formulations to conduct the InCheck and confirm their inventory’s ZDHC MRSL conformance. ZDHC will collaborate with signatories from all sector groups for the implementation.
What you need to know and do:
- Chemical formulators and distributors must ensure they provide Gateway Product IDs to their customers, the suppliers.
- Suppliers must ensure they obtain the Gateway Product IDs from chemical formulators and distributors or through the ZDHC Gateway.
This change will come into effect in Q3 2024.
ZDHC Workshop at Kolkata
The ZDHC South Asia region, in association with TUV SUD, conducted a workshop at Bantala Leather Complex, where over 200 companies have manufacturing facilities, including tanneries and footwear. This interactive session was attended by 40 participants, including representatives from the Indian Leather Technical Association and the Indian Leather Products Association. This was the first workshop organized in Kolkata to raise awareness of the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero programme. Mr Jeyraj from TUV SUD informed participants on how they can improve their chemical management practices and how formulators can achieve MRSL conformant certification.
ZDHC Solution Roadshows in Indonesia
ZDHC, in association with Testex, SGS, and Primatek, conducted two Solution Roadshows in Bandung and Semarang, Indonesia, on 9th July and 11th July, respectively. This was the first time ZDHC conducted such sessions in Indonesia. Mr Saket Kulkarni from ZDHC discussed the overview of the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme and informed participants on implementing the ZDHC programme in their facilities. Linda Lin from Testex gave an overview of Oeko-Tex and improving chemical management systems at a facility. Mr. Manuel Romero from Penta Rei discussed improving ETP efficiency with different case studies. Mr. Maulana from SGS addressed key challenges and solutions for implementing chemical management systems and introduced the SGS SMART software for generating the Performance InCheck report.
In the afternoon session, a workshop explained the ZDHC Gateway functionalities and how to find safer alternatives using the Gateway platform. The day concluded with a fun quiz to test participants’ understanding of the sessions. Both the sessions were highly interactive.
