The VDMA Textile Machinery Association, in collaboration with SBS Systems for Business Solutions and VDMA India, is set to support a delegation visit of 13 esteemed textile machinery manufacturers to India from December 4th to 8th, 2023. This event, generously backed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, aims to promote sustainable and efficient textile business practices.

The highlight of this visit will be two technology showcase events, scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad on December 5th and in Coimbatore on December 7th, 2023. The delegation offers an ideal opportunity for decision-makers and experts from the Indian textile and nonwoven industry to acquaint themselves with the latest textile machinery solutions.

Notably, the participating manufacturers include renowned companies such as Andritz, Baldwin, Erhardt+Leimer, Groz-Beckert, Karl Mayer, Körting, Pleva, Saurer, Sedo Treepoint, Setex, Trützschler Group, Trützschler Nonwovens, and Weko. Together with their Indian partners, these companies cover the entire value chain, including spinning, knitting, weaving, nonwoven, dyeing, and finishing.

The VDMA, representing over 3,600 German and European mechanical and plant engineering companies, stands as a leading force in innovation, export orientation, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). With a collective workforce exceeding 3 million individuals across the EU-27, of which 1.2 million are employed in Germany, the industry holds the highest employment rate among capital goods industries within the European Union. In terms of economic impact, the sector boasts an estimated turnover volume of 860 billion euros in the EU. Impressively, about 80 per cent of machinery sold within the EU originates from domestic manufacturing plants.

The delegation’s visit to India aims to strengthen collaboration between the textile industries of India and Germany, fostering knowledge exchange and technological advancements that will drive sustainable growth in the sector.
