Uzbekistan will see the 82nd Plenary Meeting of the ICAC.

Washington, DC — The Uzbek Minister of Textiles has extended an invitation to the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) to host its 82nd Plenary Meeting in Tashkent from September 30-October 3, 2024. The ICAC is happy and appreciative to accept.
The theme of the event is “Global Partnerships to Promote Innovation in the Cotton and Textile Value Chains,” which was selected by the local organizing committee in Tashkent.The four-day conference will feature a variety of sessions covering all sectors of the supply chain, including:

  • Recent Advances in Cotton Genetics, Genomics, and Breeding to Combat Climate Change
  • The Green Shift: How International Environmental Policies Could Reshape Cotton Textile Trade
  • Traceability and Transparency: Building Trust through Digitization
  • Future Challenges for Cotton Consumption and Fiber Market Competition
The World Café, a lively session that centers on the opinions and ideas of attendees rather than the speakers on stage, will also be held during the conference. “Building an Inclusive and Resilient Global Cotton Textiles Value Chain” is the theme for the 2024 World Café.
Attendees of the 82nd Plenary Meeting will have the opportunity to take part in a technical trip (October 4-6) to learn more about Uzbekistan’s textile and cotton sectors.
