With the addition of two additional items, UNIFI Inc. has expanded its circular REPREVE portfolio to become the world’s largest collection of performance polyester that has been regenerated. UNIFI’s exclusive Textile Takeback process powers the latest innovations, which include a novel insulating material dubbed ThermaLoop and a white-dyeable filament yarn. This marks a substantial advancement in the scalable textile-to-textile recycling process.
The significance of this event was underlined by UNIFI CEO Eddie Ingle, who said, “Polyester is the most widely used fiber on the planet, and it’s time for transformative change.” Now that the full product life cycle is taken into consideration, textile brands may develop solutions and strive toward meeting their 2030 targets for environmentally favored materials. Both of the new products fulfill virgin-quality standards and are composed of 100% recycled polyester feedstock, at least 50% of which comes from textile waste. UNIFI turns post-industrial and post-consumer textile waste into materials for the future through its Textile Takeback program. Furthermore, in order to recover their trash and prolong the shelf life of commodities, UNIFI collaborates with international businesses.
Circular REPREVE filament yarn is a high-performance, white, dyeable polyester yarn with versatility that is intended for crucial applications in various sectors. It belongs to the circular REPREVE series, which also has white and black staple fiber as well as black filament yarn. The FiberPrint tracer technology is incorporated into all of these items, allowing for U-Trust certification for authenticity.
