Trident Group and PGTI Announce the Inaugural Trident Open 2025

Trident Group and PGTI partner to launch the first-ever Trident Open at Chandigarh Golf Club, featuring top national and international players.
The Trident Group, in collaboration with the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), has announced the inaugural edition of the Trident Open Golf Tournament 2025. Scheduled from November 11–14 at Chandigarh Golf Club, the event brings together leading golfers from India and abroad, underscoring Trident’s commitment to promoting sports and excellence.
The Trident Group and the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), the governing body for professional golf in India, have jointly announced the first edition of the Trident Open Golf Tournament 2025. The event will be held at the iconic Chandigarh Golf Club from November 11 to 14, featuring a prize pool of ₹1 crore. The pre-tournament Am-Am and Pro-Am events were held on November 8 and 9, respectively.
The Trident Open is presented by Trident Group, a leading Indian conglomerate headed by Mr. Rajinder Gupta, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Chairman of the Group. With headquarters in Ludhiana, Punjab, Trident operates across textiles, paper (wheat straw-based), and chemicals, with facilities in Punjab and Madhya Pradesh.
The tournament will see participation from top Indian golfers, including PGTI Ranking leader Yuvraj Sandhu, Arjun Prasad, Shaurya Bhattacharya, Angad Cheema, Om Prakash Chouhan, and Manu Gandas. Chandigarh’s local talent will also be represented by players such as Jairaj Singh Sandhu, Akshay Sharma, Ravi Kumar, Abhijit Singh Chadha, and Umed Kumar, among others.
The international contingent includes golfers from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Italy, the United States, and Uganda, such as N Thangaraja, K Prabagaran, Jamal Hossain, Md Siddikur Rahman, Koichiro Sato, and Federico Zucchetti. Rising Indian star Shubham Jaglan, a former junior national champion and U.S.-based college golfer, will make his PGTI debut at the event.
The 72-hole stroke play format will feature 126 participants, including 123 professionals and three amateurs. After the first 36 holes, a cut will determine the top 50 players and ties, who will advance to the final rounds.
