On Monday, HT Media, publisher of English daily newspapers including Hindustan Times and Mint, inked an ad-for-equity agreement with online fashion company Tjori valued at Rs 16 crore with the media business Hindustan Times. In exchange for equity, HT will offer branding and marketing support to the brand, according to the terms of the agreement.

Tjori is a multi-category, online-only artisanal ethnic brand that sells clothing, health, home, mother, and kid items. The brand emphasises handcrafted items and the goodness of traditional Indian ingredients. Tjori will benefit from Hindustan Times’ assistance in raising brand recognition in India and accelerating worldwide expansion. This gives that brand access to the goal of creating exponential avenues for both the brands.
HT Media has agreed to a two-year contract worth £24 million with UK-based online apparel store Koovs. The business said this month that its overall investment in various companies under its ad-for-equity plan had surpassed Rs 500 crore. Bennett, Coleman and Company (BCCL), the publisher of English daily such as the Times of India and the Economic Times, also has an ad-for-equity investing arm called Brand Capital.
