A medical device manufacturing facility will be built in Tamil Nadu by Omron Healthcare, a manufacturer and distributor of personal healthcare items with headquarters in Japan, at a cost of 128 crore rupees.
According to a statement from the State government, a memorandum of agreement (MoU) was signed on Tuesday in Osaka, Japan, in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.
With exports to more than 120 nations, the OMRON Group has a varied commercial presence that includes producing electronic components, medical equipment, and industrial automation.
The company’s healthcare division includes the production of table-top nebulizer systems, portable primary management devices, fitness gadgets including wearables, and respiratory devices such as home blood pressure monitoring kits.
Calling for investments
The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has been touring Singapore and Japan over the last week to attract investments to the State and to invite business communities to the Global Investor Meet (GIM) to be held in January 2024.
On Monday, Tamil Nadu signed six MoUs worth Rs.818.9 crore with Japanese companies to set up various manufacturing facilities across the State.
