The JEPLAN Group company PET REFINE TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD. presents “HELIXTM,” a new brand for recycled PET resin made with exclusive chemical recycling technology. A special website highlighting the use of HELIXTM by well-known Japanese beverage and cosmetics companies will be launched in conjunction with this announcement.

The need for recycled materials is expanding as environmental sustainability becomes more and more of a global concern. Regulations mandating that plastic containers have at least 30% and 50% recycled material by 2030 and 2040 are being considered by Europe. By 2030, the Japan Soft Drink Association wants to have over 50% of bottles recycled from start to finish.

Because discarded PET bottles contain pollutants, recycling them can be difficult. However, PET REFINE TECHNOLOGY’s novel technique breaks down the bottles at the molecular level, eliminating metals and colors. As a result, premium recycled PET resin is produced that is equivalent to petroleum-based substitutes and can be used to make cosmetic containers and new PET bottles. In addition, this method emits less CO2 than conventional manufacturing.

The introduction of HELIXTM seeks to further the idea of “infinitely circulating” resources and increase the use of recycled materials. PET REFINE TECHNOLOGY aims to raise consumer awareness and promote a more sustainable, circular economy by making HELIXTM a well-known brand.
