Ahmedabad Textile Processers Association has represented to the Prime Minister, Ministries of Commerce, Textiles and MSME to Keep Textile Industry out of RCEP.
They have pointed out that since last 5 years Textile Industry is going through a massive slowdown for various reasons; among them the Major reason is rise in imports which is more than 600% in Textile from China, Bangladesh & other countries. If now Textile is included in RCEP we won’t have any option but to shut our industry. Since due to RCEP china will be able to dump maximum of its artificially cheap textiles in our markets and flood it. Direct deficit with china will rise even more which is currently around US $ 53 Billion and we have Trade Deficit with all RCEP countries.
