Aditya Birla Group’s regel recycled acrylic fibre from Thai Acrylic Fibre (TAF), is now bluesign Approved, Moreover, it is GRS certified. Regel meets the safety and environmental requirements of bluesign Criteria, as does the company’s gel-dyed acrylic fibre, Radianza, which has already achieved the certification.
Regel was developed as a result of growing demand of sustainable fashion products from global consumers, brands and retailers and was launched earlier this year,
Waste accumulation and its management is one of the key sustainability challenges for the industry and recycling pre-consumer, post-consumer and in-process waste to make new products is one of the obvious ways to reduce impact. Regel is one of the pioneering acrylic fibres produced from recycled waste. It is made with an unique and intimate chemical recycling process and the fibre is functionally equivalent to standard acrylic fibre for the warmth, comfort and vibrant shades that it provides.
Bluesign approved articles go through a rigorous certification process to prove they are manufactured with a minimum impact on people and the environment.
Thomas Varghese, head of textiles for the Aditya Birla Group said, “We are very proud to receive this certification for Regel fibre,” He further said, “This certification is a part of our larger sustainability strategy.”
