Truetzschler India, a subsidiary of the 137-year-old German engineering firm Trützschler Group SE, celebrated a significant development with the opening of its cutting-edge manufacturing plant in Sanand, near Ahmedabad. This major project represents an investment of ₹400 crore, underlining the group’s long-term commitment to India and its vital contribution to the global textile machinery landscape.
The grand inauguration witnessed the presence of dignitaries including Gujarat’s Honourable Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Bhai Patel, Honourable MP Shri Parshottam Ji Rupala, Sanand MLA Kanubhai Patel, and the Consulate General of Germany in India, Mr. Achim Fabig. The ceremony also saw participation from the shareholder families, senior leaders of the Truetzschler Group, and Indian leadership teams.
Truetzschler’s journey in India began in 1977 with its brand “Trumac.” Over the years, it expanded operations across three units in Lambha, which eventually faced spatial limitations. This prompted the acquisition of a 42-acre site in Sanand where, over the past three years, the company has built a fully integrated and technologically advanced plant. The card clothing (TCC) section started functioning in July 2024, followed by the spinning division in February 2025.
Equipped with high-level automation and digital systems, the facility includes expansive climate-controlled workspaces to ensure precision manufacturing and enhanced employee welfare. The plant’s production capacity is nearly double that of the older Lambha units, and it currently generates approximately 1,200 direct and indirect employment opportunities. The location also offers potential for future expansion with 25,000 square meters reserved for further development.
At the event, Shri Parshottam Ji Rupala unveiled Truetzschler’s latest innovation—the TC26i, an intelligent carding machine. Chief Minister Bhupendra Bhai Patel revealed the commemorative plaque and, during his Gujarat Foundation Day address, highlighted Truetzschler’s robust international presence in Germany, the USA, China, and Brazil. He remarked that the new Sanand plant stands as the company’s largest and most advanced facility worldwide.
The event also acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the Gujarat government, the India-Germany teams of Truetzschler, and the contributions of employees and suppliers in realizing this milestone project.
