Turkey’s textile and apparel industry holds great global importance, making it a valuable trading partner for Italian textile machinery producers. Turkey is now Italy’s second-largest overseas market for textile machinery exports, with 183 million euros worth of sales to the country in 2023.
Turkey is the second-largest overseas market for Italian equipment exports, and Italian textile machinery firms are well-represented there. A large number of Italian businesses will be showcasing their products at the next ITM industrial trade show, which takes place in Istanbul from June 4–8, 2024. ACIMIT and the Italian Trade Agency will set up a space where sixteen businesses can display their wares.
The robust collaboration between Turkish textile producers and Italian machinery makers was emphasized by ACIMIT President Marco Salvadè. Turkish textile companies have made significant investments in cutting-edge technologies, with Italian machinery playing a major role in many of these projects. Italy is one of the primary technological providers to the Turkish textile sector, along with Germany and China. Italian machinery manufacturers have a strong presence at the ITM trade expo.
Salvadè wants to use new technological developments in machinery manufacture to strengthen Italy’s position as a market leader in Turkey. The goal is to increase productivity and optimization through the digitalization of production processes.
