The most recent addition to Clariant’s extensive line of Desi Pak desiccant packets & bags, the New Desi Pak ECO packets, bears the EcoTain® certification, which honours goods with exceptional sustainability benefits. On the Desi Pak ECO product, a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) was conducted. demonstrated that the responsibly-mined bentonite clay had a smaller carbon footprint and less energy consumption compared to synthetic desiccants because of a less sophisticated production process based on desiccant produced in the United States. Water usage for the manufacture of raw materials is also much reduced.
Clariant expanded the sourcing of raw materials with a lower environmental impact to include transport packaging in order to further assist clients in lowering their own Scope 3 emissions. Desi Pak ECO is transported in recyclable cartons that use raw materials sourced from sustainably managed plantations.
