Center Will Relocate Mumbai Textile Commissioner’s Office To Delhi

The textile commissioner’s office will now be located in New Delhi, per a decision made by the central government. The ministry of textiles’ under secretary, Jayashree Sivakumar, informed textile commissioner Roop Rashi of the decision in a letter.

The decision has been communicated in writing to textile commissioner Roop Rashi by Jayashree Sivakumar, under secretary in the ministry of textiles.

“I am required to advise you that the office of the textile commissioner and the textile committee (TC) have been reorganised with the agreement of the competent authority in order to improve effectiveness and achieve optimal use of resources. In order to enhance the technical arm of the ministry through this restructuring, the textile commissioner and a few other important employees will be transferred to the Ministry of Textiles (MoT). to the TC main office and field offices from head office and field office,” the letter stated.

The textile commissioner would be relocated to New Delhi together with a few other key employees, including one joint textile commissioner, two deputy secretary level (director rank), and two deputy director level officers, as a first step to begin the restructuring/merger process. According to the letter, the textile commissioner would be seated in the ministry and other officials in the NOIDA regional office. By April 5, 2023, the officials must relocate.
