Two textile parks—one in Shiggaon in Haveri District and another in Karkala in Udupi District—will be set up, Karnataka State Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa announced while presenting the State Budget for fiscal 2020-21 on March 5. The projects are expected to create employment for nearly 3,000.
Around 6.45 lakh farmers affected by the 2019 floods will be offered compensation. Funds worth rs. 200 cr are going to be directed towards the promotion of education on organic farming in the agriculture sector, according to a report on the budget from the State. The Chief Minister said the State is facing its worst financial crisis.
