For the first time since the epidemic, the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) made a comeback to attend Intex Sri Lanka 2024. Worldex India arranged pre-exhibition discussions with important industry players, such as the Joint Apparel Association Forum of Sri Lanka (JAAF) and Sri Lanka Apparel Exporters’ Association (SLAEA), to make the most of their presence.
and SLASA, the Sri Lanka Apparel Sourcing Association. In order to give Taiwanese businesses important information about the Sri Lankan market and potential cooperation options, unique factory visits to top clothing producers including Hela Clothing and Crystal Martin Lanka were also arranged.
“The Taiwan Textile Federation is delighted to be a part of Intex Sri Lanka,” said Mike Wang, Market Development Department, Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF), Taiwan. We have invited five of our top enterprises to Sri Lanka to look into joint venture possibilities with regional clothing factories as a government-sponsored group committed to promoting sustainable and innovative Taiwanese textiles worldwide. This is both my first time visiting Intex and our mills’ first time to Sri Lanka. Given the rising demand for Taiwanese textiles in the Sri Lankan market, we think there is a lot of room for cooperation. The lively environment and upbeat vibes at Intex really excite us.
At Intex Sri Lanka 2024, five upscale Taiwanese textile firms presented their most recent developments and made connections with clients from South Asia, Sri Lanka, and other international markets. Over a hundred inquiries were received from the visitors who spent three days at the TEPP booth, which featured fabric swatches and samples from fifteen additional Taiwanese enterprises.
The following Taiwanese companies participated: Premiere Fashion Corp., a professional and integrated converter of sustainable knitted, woven, and spandex fabrics for sportswear and outdoor performance wear; Hwang Yih Textile Co., Ltd., which supplies highly innovative stretch fabric (cooling, thermal, anti-odour), functional fabric (quick dry, x-static, cooling, biodegradable, W/R C0); Be Be Cotton Knitting Co., Ltd., which is known for its high-end cotton products as well as natural dyed fabrics; and King Textile Co., Ltd., which specializes in producing recycled MMF & synthetic as well as blended fabrics, both knit and woven. Displayed their designs at the 2024 Intex Sri Lanka event. The majority of the pavilion’s exhibitors comply with OEKO-TEX, Higg Index, GRS, Bluesign, and other standards.
All things considered, Taiwanese enterprises’ involvement at Intex was a great success. The response and inquiries generated at the show exceeded the Federation and participating firms. In the upcoming editions, the Taiwan Textile Federation intends to create a larger pavilion with more businesses in order to highlight Taiwan’s creative and sustainable textiles.
