The Chinese Taipei Olympic team, which is competing in the Paris 2024 Olympics, has teamed up with fabric maker New Wide and label manufacturer Junmay to introduce their uniforms, showcasing their technological expertise and dedication to sustainability.

The outer coats use 3D-sculpted fabric and New Wide’s cutting-edge carbon capture yarn, embellished with digital direct prints that are modeled after Taiwan’s mountain ranges. Misty mountain patterns blend into marine blue tones in this unusual design, signifying the natural beauty of Taiwan.

New Wide combines a single-sided tiny loop structure with state-of-the-art technologies like cooling yarn and Nano-Ge Nylon for the polo shirts. The incorporation of germanium components in Nano-Ge Nylon releases negative ions that counteract positive charges in the body, encourage microcirculation, and lessen weariness.

The leading label manufacturer in Taiwan, Junmay, made a contribution by creating labels with two eco-friendly yarns: Seawool® yarn, which upcycles discarded oyster shells into a texture akin to wool, and Greencell® Filament Yarn, which is manufactured from biodegradable ingredients.

The Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) predicts that Taiwan’s textile producers will keep coming up with innovative sustainable technology for sports and international brands. The Textile Export Promotion Project (TEPP) of TTF is an important initiative that chooses top suppliers and promotes their environmentally friendly goods globally.
