Gap has collaborated with Textile Exchange to announce its Favorite Fiber Toolkit (PFT), an online platform that can outline the environmental and social impacts of different raw materials, as well as educate like-minded businesses who are trying to achieve their sustainability goals.

In addition to the Sustainable Apparel Coalition’s (SAC) Product Tools, the Toolkit would not only reveal the related environmental implications of raw materials but also other factors for consideration, such as subsequent impacts on labourers, biodiversity and land use.

PFT growth has been vital for Gap’s ability to set targets and build internal awareness of how to design better products and implement fibre strategies. A systematic and data-driven strategy, while providing an opportunity to choose more planet-friendly raw materials, helps to have more trust in our sustainable sourcing decisions.
