NEW JERSEY – US packaging manufacturer Sun Chemical has established a corporate sustainability committee, as it vies to double down on efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its operations.

The firm says the focus of its committee will align with that of others in the industry, which are “setting ambitious sustainability targets for their organisations with goals of providing high levels of recyclable or renewable packaging as early as 2025”.

The announcement comes hot on the heels of Fashion For Good announcing the resumption of its Plastics Packaging Project, which is striving to create a circular economy around the estimated 180 million poly bags used per year in the fashion industry.
