Spectrum 2025 & Craft Bazar: Where Art Meets Imagination

NIFT Mumbai proudly hosted the Craft Bazar 2025 on March 6th and 7th, celebrating India’s rich traditional craftsmanship. The event brought together skilled artisans who showcased and sold handcrafted products, including Block Printing, Batik, Santhal Painting, Crochet, Nagpur Textiles, Kolhapuri Chappals, Chitrakathi Painting, Paithani, and Maheshwari Textiles.

The Craft Bazar featured talented artisans such as Maruti Bamne, Kundan Satpute, Meenu Aanand, Siya S. Vaigankar, Klasy D’ Souza, Sachin Potdar, Smita Manivannan Chakravarthi, Pritam Sataynarayan Pandhurnekar, Vijaya Pawar, Sagar Vijay Kherud, and Vrajkumar Vinaykumar Makwana. Visitors, including students, faculty, and craft enthusiasts, had the opportunity to explore exquisite handmade products and support artisan-led businesses.

To further empower artisans, an Artisan Awareness Workshop was conducted on March 5th and 6th, covering essential topics such as:
Craft Policies & Market Skills
Origami Packaging & Product Diversification
Ergonomics & Mobile Photography for Social Media

These sessions provided artisans with valuable insights into expanding their market presence and enhancing their craft. Additionally, the Craft Demonstration segment allowed visitors to witness live demonstrations by skilled artisans, bringing traditional techniques to life.

Spectrum 2025 – A Celebration of Creativity & Expression

Alongside the Craft Bazar, NIFT Mumbai’s Annual Fest, Spectrum’25, was held on March 7th and 8th with immense enthusiasm. The event was inaugurated by:

This year’s Spectrum theme, ‘ILLUSIA,’ explored a surrealist world where imagination blurs the lines between fantasy and reality. The concept delved into the power of creativity, portraying how artistic expression flourishes even in the most unexpected spaces. Through bold textures, vibrant colors, and dreamlike aesthetics, ‘ILLUSIA’ encouraged students to push creative boundaries.

NIFT Mumbai remains committed to preserving traditional crafts, fostering innovation, and supporting the artisan community. Spectrum’25 provided students with the freedom to express their artistic visions, transforming imagination into reality through engaging performances, competitions, and exhibitions.
