CAPE TOWN, South Africa, August 30, 2024/ — Technology and service provider SLB – through its OneSubsea subsidiary – was recently awarded a contract by multinational energy corporation TotalEnergies for the supply of subsea production systems for the Kaminho deepwater project in Block 20/11, offshore Angola. The contract, which was granted to OneSubsea last month, involves a 13-well subsea production system for the 70, 000 parrel per day project which expects first production in 2028.

The company will take part in African Energy Week (AEW): Invest in African Energy 2024 as a gold and networking sponsor in an effort to promote sustainable development in Africa and improve technology. AEW is set to take place in Cape Town from November 4–8, 2024.

AEW: Invest in African Energy has become the official venue for signing transactions in the African energy sector, serving as the preferred platform for project operators, financiers, technology providers, and governments. For additional information about this fascinating event, go to www.AECWeek.com.

SLB will provide local onshore operations support for the Kaminho project, including assembly, module production, installation, commissioning, and life-of-field services, as per its agreement with TotalEnergies. In order to greatly improve Angola’s access to potential energy resources, SLB and the supermajor will work together to build a highly flexible subsea production platform with a standardized vertical monobore subsea tree.

With a strong emphasis on sustainability and technological progress to achieve optimal performance while reducing environmental effect, SLB concentrates on technology and services for the energy industry. SLB declared in January that it was going to augment its investments in Algeria with an emphasis on growing its operational reach.
