SIMA TEXFAIR 2019 AND FARM TO FINISH INTERNATIONAL EXPO 2019 READY TO TAKE OFF

The Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA), the single largest and oldest
employers’ organization in the country has been organizing the international textile
machinery, accessories and spares exhibitions known as Texfair since the year 2001
for the mutual benefit of the supplier and user industries. Since the Exhibition is
being organized by the user industry Association, the response for the exhibition has
been over whelming during the earlier events. Texfair is rated as one of the top
international events being conducted in the world and almost all world leading
textile machinery, spares, accessories and service providers from different
countries regularly participate in the fair. Coimbatore is popularly known as
Manchester of South India, produces over 70% of the textile machinery, spares
and accessories manufactured in the country.

“TEXFAIR 2019”, a four-day International Textile Machinery, Accessories,
Spares Exhibition, the 12th edition in its series, being organized by SIMA is ready to
showcase the modern developments during August 9-12, 2019 at CODISSIA Trade
Fair Complex, Avanashi Road, Coimbatore 641 014. The visiting hours are from
10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. SIMA is also organizing “FARM TO FINISH EXPO 2019”,
an event showcasing the products of entire textile value chain from cotton to finished
products during the same period in the same venue for the third time.
In a press meet held today, Mr.P.Nataraj, Chairman, SIMA and Mr.Ashwin
Chandran, Vice-Chairman, SIMA, briefed the Press about the Texfair 2019 and Farm
to Finish Expo 2019 events. They informed that 250 exhibitors will be displaying
their products / services in 320 stalls. They said that the major products that would
be displayed at the Fair would include textile machinery, spares, accessories, testing
equipments, electrical and electronic components, etc. They have further said that
apart from leading textile machinery, spares, accessories manufacturers / suppliers
from Tamilnadu, exhibitors from other States of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka,

Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and from different
European countries and Japan, China will also participate.
They further said that textile mills on an average spend 2.5 to 3% of their
annual turnover on spares and accessories and also plough back 4 to 6% of their
annual turnover on modernization. They further said that Texfair 2019 would be an
ideal platform for these mills to zero in their requirements, meet all the suppliers
under one roof and prudently plan their investments, cut costs and improve the
quality of the products they manufacture. The purpose of the fair also includes
supporting import substitution by encouraging new inventions. They further said that
the Fair would also give an opportunity for the textile mills to plan their ongoing and
future investments in the mills. SIMA office-bearers have appealed to all the textile
mills and stakeholders to visit the Exhibition and derive maximum benefits.
They have said that around one lakh visitors from all over the country
covering Managing Directors / Directors / Executives and shop floor technicians are
likely to visit the Exhibition during the four days.
SIMA office-bearers further informed that in the Farm to Finish Expo 2019,
around 50 leading textile companies and organizations would participate and show
case cotton, fibres, yarn, fabric, made-ups and garments in the Expo. The Farm to
Finish Expo is aimed at bringing all the stakeholders across the textile value chain
under one roof and facilitate renewing their business relationship and enhance brand
image.

They further informed that the inaugural function will be held at 9.45 am on 9th
August 2019 at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore. Dr K V Srinivasan,
Chairman, Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council, has given his consent to be
chief guest of the inaugural function and would throw open the exhibitions.
For visiting the exhibitions there is no entrance fee / registration fee for
all the textile stakeholders.
