Shima Seiki Italia, the Italian subsidiary of Shima Seiki, a Japanese developer of computerised knitting solutions, will exhibit at the 89th edition of the Pitti Immagine Filati expo in Florence, Italy.
Shima Seiki has launched APEXfiz, their new APEXFiz design programme, as a subscription-based design platform. Shima’s APEXFiz design software is the company’s first subscription-based product, and its yarnbank is the world’s first digital yarn sourcing online service for the knitting industry. Shima’s APEX series is now accessible for installation on individual PCs for the first time in over 40 years of design system development. From planning and design to colorway assessment, realistic fabric simulation, and 3D modelling, the programme helps the creative side of fashion.
Yarnbank is the world’s first online search and download platform for digitised yarns. Yarn businesses supply a piece of yarn, which is digitised and utilised to imitate cloth on APEXFiz. This is then processed by a creative agency specialised in digital material to produce 3D virtual representations for each company’s Pitti Connect website.
