Hyderabad, October 18, 2024: In an effort to give the upcoming generation a solid foundation in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education, Shell India has announced the launch of new EdTech projects. The programs make use of cutting-edge digital learning tools, data analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) to pinpoint specific learning gaps and offer tailored learning interventions. The new initiatives, which were created in partnership with Khan Academy, Education Initiatives, and Pratham Infotech Foundation, build on the achievements of Shell’s global flagship program, NXplorers, which has benefited over 3 lakh students in India and is run by Learning Links Foundation and Smile Foundation.
Introducing the new programmes, Latika Taneja, Head of Corporate Relations, Shell India added, At Shell, we are fervent supporters of STEM education rather than just advocates for it! We are eager to use digital technology to create individualized learning curricula and enhance the learning experience with these cutting-edge new programs. Our goal is to promote inclusive growth and empower the next generation, and our new alliances and continued affiliation with NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission for NXplorers are essential to achieving this goal.
Dr. Chintan Vaishnav, Mission Director, AIM, NITI Aayog, said,Effective use of systems thinking has the potential to ignite revolutionary movements. Through its engaging seminars, Shell’s NXplorers program demystifies complicated systems thinking and equips students to tackle problems creatively. Our goal in growing our collaboration with Shell India is to reach more students and provide them with the resources and chances they need to make a significant contribution to India’s developing innovation ecosystem.
In the coming years, these programmes will be implemented in multiple schools across Delhi NCR, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. Comprehensive teacher training will accompany these efforts to create a dynamic and personalised learning environment, enabling students to overcome foundational learning gaps and gain access to advanced STEM skills.
Shell India will further expand its ongoing NXplorers programme, which aims to enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills among students. Building on the successful pilot in partnership with Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, the programmes will now scale to more schools over the next three years.
