Shahi Exports, India’s largest clothing export business, and the Apparel, Made-Ups, and Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC) recently held a skill training programme for several hundred women.
Haldiram Snacks, one of India’s most renowned snack and sweets companies, sponsored the effort.
The skill training programme was created specifically for economically disadvantaged women. For three months, training was provided for sewing machine operators and self-employed tailor work responsibilities.
Shahi Exports has launched a CSR programme for women in India to provide them with employable skills. The aim is to make them a bigger part of the skilling eco-system and to help them secure employment. The Government of India has been proactively encouraging CSR-funded skill development activities to promote skilling, reskilling and upskilling on a massive scale.
