On November 10, 2024, a group of fifty representatives from the South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industries, accompanied by Smt. Darshana Jardosh, the former cabinet minister for textiles, set out on an industrial tour to Premier Looms, a renowned manufacturer that specializes in waterjet looms specifically made in India for the textile industry.
TMMA Executive Director Sachin Arora also paid a visit to the location.
The purpose of the visit was to promote better communication and cooperation between Premier Looms and nearby companies. The company’s state-of-the-art technology, creative manufacturing techniques, and best practices were presented to the members.
Sachin Arora gave an explanation of how the Indian government is implementing BIS on high-speed weaving machines.
“This visit provided valuable insights into Premier Loom’s operations and highlighted opportunities for mutual growth,” stated SGCCI President Vijay Mevawala. He added that Premier should increase their capacity to produce an increasing number of high-speed weaving machines, such as Air jet and Waterjet, since they have advanced technological equipment available in their facility.
In addition, Smt. Darshana ben Jardosh stated that Premier has been performing a great job over the past 48 years and that she has always supported local industry’s advancement in technology and production. Businesses with the kind of infrastructure and technical know-how that Premier possesses ought to be the first to introduce such high-speed (HI speed) and waterjet technology equipment.
The Vice President of SGCCI, Nikhil Madrasi, stated that weavers and premier’s alike ought to maximize the benefits of government policies and incentives. He inspired the Premier team to work hard and wisely in order to improve Premier and the country.
“We’re pleased to share our expertise and look forward to future partnerships with SGCCI members,” stated Ashish Amin, Director of Premier Looms. We shall endeavor to incorporate unique and valuable features into our products, whether they are comparable to imported machinery or not.
The National Anthem finished the program. The SGCCI team, the premier team, news reporters, delegates, and most importantly, Smt. Darshana ben Jardosh, the former textile minister, had all enthusiastically participated.
