SCM Garments plans new knitting facility in Madhya Pradesh

SCM Garments, a vertically integrated apparel company, has announced plans to develop a new knitting facility in Madhya Pradesh. SCM Garments, a subsidiary of the Chennai Silks Group with roots in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, claims that the new facility has space for up to 2,000 machines. Despite the lack of a specific timeline, it is anticipated that the facility might be operating in two years.

SCM runs a variety of factories in Tamil Nadu that produce about 14 million items each month for many of the top brands and merchants in the globe. Ethiopia is home to one of its plants.

SCM, which was founded in 1989, today makes use of a variety of the latest knitting technologies from Germany and Italy to enable it produce rib, interlock, and striper textiles. Additionally, Taiwanese and Japanese collar knitting machines are used to knit various varieties of flat knit collars, as well as Singaporean machines for single jersey fabrics with three thread conversion.

Additionally, it has its own spinning facility with 20 Auto Coner machines, 45 ring frames, and 28 combing machines. It mostly makes yarn blends from counts Ne 20's to Ne 50's and organic cotton yarns in the range of counts Ne 20's to Ne 60's.
