Sagar Manufacturers, a prominent company based in India, has been at the forefront of embracing digitization as part of its continuous improvement efforts. With just over a decade in operations, the company has gained a reputation for quality and now exports to more than 20 countries, partnering with over 200 brands.

In 2021, Sagar Manufacturers implemented Rieter’s ESSENTIALmonitor, a module of the Rieter Digital Spinning Suite. By combining it with the individual spindle monitoring ISM premium on their spinning machines, the company achieved remarkable results. The real-time monitoring provided by ESSENTIALmonitor allowed Sagar Manufacturers to keep a close eye on machine performance and quickly identify areas that required adjustments.

The implementation of ESSENTIALmonitor and ISM premium brought numerous benefits to Sagar Manufacturers, including a noticeable increase in mill productivity by 1.5%. Additionally, the company witnessed a 10% reduction in manpower requirements, a 10% decrease in hard waste, a 2.5% decrease in soft waste, and an expected improvement in plant utilization by 0.1%.

One of the key features that contributed to their success was the “Improvement suggestions” function, which facilitated intelligent mill maintenance by analyzing critical machine components and identifying deviations. The “Threshold trigger” feature also played a crucial role by alerting users via email or SMS when threshold values were missed or exceeded.

A.K. Saini, the Chief General Manager (Operations) of Sagar Manufacturers, expressed appreciation for the support provided by the Rieter team and highlighted the optimized performance achieved through the full utilization of ESSENTIALmonitor. The company remains excited about the future potential of the system.

With these impressive results, Sagar Manufacturers has demonstrated the power of digitization in driving continuous improvement and enhancing productivity in the textile industry.
