Reliance Industries has tied up with Turkey’s textile manufacturer K›vançTekstil to manufacture and market it’s sustainable and eco-friendly fabric brand R|Elan’sGreenGold fabric in the country, the Mukesh Ambani-led company said in a statement on Monday. According to the arrangement between the two companies, K›vanç will be the exclusive distributor of RIL’s Recron GreenGold fibres to spinners, yarn manufactures and knitters across Turkey. The arrangement will help RIL and K›vanç offer eco-friendly textile solutions to brands and retailers, which source their requirements from Turkey, to meet the evergrowing demand of environment-friendly apparels, the statement said.

R|ElanGreenGold is made from recycled PET, which substantially reduces emission of greenhouse gases. The manufacturing process doesn’t need much water, and 90% of the used water is recycled. It uses bio-fuels and is one of the few recycled brands that provides end-to-end traceability throughout the supply chain, right from PET bottles to fibres. RIL, the owner of brand R|Elan, is one of India’s largest recycler of PET bottles in India, recycling 2.2 billion PET bottles a year, the conglomerate said.
