India ITME Society, a prestigious apex industry body with a 45-year legacy, organized a captivating session on the latest manufacturing technologies for textiles at Bharat Tex.

During the Bharat Tex 2024 event, the India ITME Society highlighted the significance of textile machinery and technology in a captivating panel session on the 2nd day at Bharat Mandapum. This session shed light on how textile machinery and technology play a crucial role in driving forward the textiles and apparel industry.

Mr M. Sankar, Director (Operations) at Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd., addressed distinguished panellists in Globally renowned Spinning Machineries, shedding light on LMW’s innovative smart solutions that drive benchmark productivity and quality. LMW is recognized for its comprehensive approach, encompassing the design, manufacturing, installation, and ongoing service of machinery across the spinning line. Noteworthy among LMW’s offerings is the cutting-edge Auto Blend LA10 machinery, designed for seamless blending of a wide array of materials. Featuring the capacity to accommodate up to 4 feeders, each capable of handling 500 kg/hr, and a Two-line output, the Auto-Blend incorporates an online weight variation monitor that ensures precision by halting the machine in case of deviations. This automation solution not only guarantees precise blending but also leads to significant reductions in labour and operational costs while maintaining unparalleled material quality.

Another hallmark innovation from LMW is the Ring Frame Auto Piecing (RAP) system. This fully automated solution responds to yarn breaks detected by the Yarn Breakage Sensor (YBS) and automatically pieces the yarn at the respective spindle, eliminating the need for manual intervention and reducing training requirements. The RAP system’s compatibility with spinning operations further enhances its appeal, making it a valuable asset in optimizing efficiency and quality in the spinning industry.

Mr Surjit Singh Mahajan, Managing Director at Stäubli India Pvt. Ltd., highlighted the company’s cutting-edge weaving solutions tailored for technical fabrics during his presentation. Stäubli’s diverse portfolio of solutions caters to an extensive array of applications in the global market, meeting the stringent requirements of producing specialized technical textiles like one-piece woven airbags, customized lightweight construction fabrics, and synthetic turf. Notably, the newly launched Stäubli TF Series Weaving Systems for Technical Textiles boast modular designs for flexible customisation.

In the automotive sector, Stäubli delivers uncompromising quality in manufacturing one-piece woven airbags and conventional airbags, offering solutions for both types. Healthcare applications benefit from Stäubli’s SAFIR automatic drawing-in machines, specifically designed for intricate medical filter weaving. Stäubli remains committed to sustainability, with a focus on durability and recyclability, exemplified by their eco-friendly PRO Jacquard machines that significantly reduce energy consumption by 30%

Dr. Franco Bonello, Managing Director of Vandewiele – Savio India Pvt. Ltd emphasized Savio’s longstanding reputation as a trailblazer in textile machinery innovation. The core drivers of Savio’s product development strategy are innovation, technology, and customer-centricity. Key areas of focus for Savio’s R&D include the implementation of cutting-edge technologies to enhance their offerings:

  • Utilising Machine Learning for Preventive Maintenance: Enabling machines to provide real-time feedback for timely interventions and spare part requirements.
  • Implementing AI for Quality Monitoring: Ensuring full traceability of yarn inputs and outputs for improved quality control.
  • Enhancing Software for Data Analysis: Leveraging data analytics to make informed decisions that optimize productivity, efficiency, and quality in spinning mills.

The launch of the Lybra Smart spinner symbolizes Savio’s foray into airjet spinning, a rapidly evolving technology segment with limited machinery options. This new offering, featuring innovative features like Multiblend, aims to streamline operations and enhance versatility in the spinning process. Additionally, Savio’s post-spinning solutions, including the well-established Two-for-One twisters Sirius and Cosmos, have been continuously refined to meet evolving industry needs. The Duo-Pot feeding variant streamlines yarn preparation processes by allowing direct loading from automatic winders, a feature particularly favoured by Indian manufacturers.

Mr. Hisahiro Koketsu, Managing Director of Kirloskar Toyota Textile Machinery Pvt. Ltd., stated that the core belief at KTTM is “Safety First, Quality Second, Production Third,” a principle derived from Toyota Industries Corporation, Japan. With a monthly spindle production capacity of 65,000 units in Bengaluru, KTTM tailors its offerings to meet the specific requirements of each spinner. The introduction of the RX 300 model in the Indian market has significantly bolstered versatility and reliability. Despite the challenging market dynamics, KTTM has efficiently utilized 95% of its production capacity and remains committed to enhancing its global presence. Notably, KTTM has unveiled Toyota’s renowned “Roving machine FL 200” to cater to the domestic market in India.
