Retail turnover growth in Netherlands.

In April 2024, the retail sector in the Netherlands saw a 2.3% increase in turnover compared to the previous year. Sales volume also rose by 2.3%, with online retailers experiencing a significant 11.6% increase in turnover. Clothes shops, however, recorded a decrease in turnover during this period.

In April 2024 the Dutch retail sector recorded an annual growth in turnover of 2.3 percent, according to Statistics Netherlands. Sales volume also increased by 2.3 percent. Turnover in the non-food sector (including online retail) increased by 3.8 percent and online retail turnover grew by 8.8 percent year on year.

According to the CBS, sales volume in the non-food sector increased by 4.9% compared to the previous year. Footwear and leather product shops experienced a rise in turnover, while clothes and home furnishings shops saw a decline.

In April 2024, online retailers experienced an 11.6% increase in turnover, with multi-channel retailers seeing a 5.4% rise in online sales. Turnover for non-food products and clothing/fashion items also increased compared to the previous year.
