Rajshree Fabrics, a prominent name in the nonwoven industry, has expanded its horizons beyond high-performance materials to cater to the burgeoning consumer market. The company, renowned for its spunbond, melt-blown, and functional nonwoven fabrics, has ventured into converting these materials into essential everyday items such as absorbent socks, N95 face masks, disposable bed sheets, and more.

A Journey of Growth and Innovation

Founded in 2006 by brothers Abhinav Kansal and Harsh Kansal, Rajshree Fabrics has witnessed significant growth over the past 18 years. Initially, the company focused on the packaging industry, operating a single spun-bond nonwoven production line with a modest capacity of 300 tons per month.

Today, with five Ricofil nonwoven production machines, the company boasts an impressive capacity of 2,400 tons of nonwoven fabrics per month. The recent addition of a five-beam SSMMS line has further strengthened Rajshree Fabrics’ position in the medical and hygiene sectors, enabling the production of nonwoven fabrics for sanitary napkins, diapers, and medical gowns.

Expanding into Consumer Products

Rajshree Fabrics has also made significant strides in the consumer product segment. Starting with nonwoven bags, the company has expanded its product range to include absorbent socks, absorbent pillows, surgical masks, N95 face masks, disposable bed sheets, bouffant caps, and shopping bags.

To support this expansion, the company has invested in state-of-the-art machinery, including offset printing machines, to enhance the value and functionality of its nonwoven fabrics.

Functional Finishes for Specialized Applications

A key differentiator for Rajshree Fabrics is its ability to produce nonwoven fabrics with specialised functional finishes. The company offers a wide range of functional nonwoven fabrics, including:

  • Anti-microbial nonwoven fabrics: Ideal for medical applications, these fabrics inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi.
  • UV-treated nonwoven fabrics: These fabrics provide protection against harmful UV rays, making them suitable for outdoor applications.
  • Anti-static nonwoven fabrics: These fabrics prevent static build-up, reducing the risk of electrostatic discharge.
  • Laminated nonwoven fabrics: These fabrics offer enhanced strength, durability, and water resistance.
  • Hydrophilic and hydrophobic nonwoven fabrics: These fabrics have specific water absorption or repellency properties, making them suitable for various applications.

Overcoming Export Challenges and Building a Global Presence

Despite logistical challenges associated with its location in Himachal Pradesh, Rajshree Fabrics has successfully entered the export market. The company exports nonwoven bags and hygiene fabrics to several countries, contributing 10% to its overall revenue. While challenges persist, the company remains committed to expanding its global footprint and increasing its export volumes.

Rajshree Fabrics’ remarkable journey from a small-scale nonwoven fabric manufacturer to a diversified player in the industry is a testament to its unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. With a strong focus on functional finishes and consumer products, the company is well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of the global market.
