Professor Parikshit Goswami has been named to the board of the UK Fashion and Textile Association (UKFT), where he will be entrusted with supporting the non-increased profit’s focus on innovation, R&D, and sustainability.
Goswami is the director of the Technical Textiles Research Centre and the head of the University of Huddersfield’s fashion and textiles department. He will continue in these responsibilities while focusing on the development of the UKFT’s activities.
The organisation, whose functions include representation, business support, international business, skills and training, and UK manufacturing, is changing to include innovation and scalability.
Parik Goswami has joined the UK Fashion and Textiles Federation UKFT board. He will help shape work on innovation, R&D and sustainability for the UK’s fashion and textile industry. Professor Goswami managed research projects concerning fibre/polymer science, nonwovens, medical textiles, sustainable materials, nano and submicron fibres and plasma treatments for functionalising textiles.
