In an effort to reach its target of having a greater percentage of its clothing designed with recyclable materials by 2027, Primark has teamed up with the Circular Textiles Foundation (CTF) to provide an advanced training program for its product and design teams. With recyclability at its center, the new training will concentrate on advanced circular design principles.

During the training, the product and design teams at Primark, as well as a few chosen suppliers, will go over each category of the company’s clothing inventory. This will enable them to comprehend the practical applications of circularity principles. Participants in the workshop will get knowledge on how to apply the fundamentals of circular design to several product categories, tailoring Primark’s strategy to the particulars of each kind of product.

“This is the next step for us at Primark to really start embedding circular design principles into the core of how we design and make our products,” said Nicholas Lambert, head of circularity at the retailer. With this customized new training, our personnel are eager to hone their abilities and comprehend how we can improve our designs.

“Sharing knowledge is crucial to tackling the industry’s issues at pace and scale,” stated CTF founder Tim Cross. We are bringing designing for recyclability into the mainstream and making it available to everyone. By collaborating with Primark, we hope to get one step closer to promoting change throughout the sector.
